Matt is the Economic Development Manager for the City of Wilsonville. He has held the position for nearly six years, prior to which he served in the same role in the City of Estacada. Matt is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Utah.

Before entering the world of local government and Economic Development, Matt taught the social sciences as a licensed high school teacher, and was first exposed to the development world while he worked in commercial real estate development and brokerage during and after graduate school. He calls upon his diverse background to develop policies, programs, and strategies that reflect local aspirations, market realities and the variables that drive private development.

As a key leader in Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Matt has served as Co-Chair of OEDA’s TIF Program & Statewide Member Network for nearly five years and was instrumental in the development and publication of the TIF Best Practices Manual.
