About Session

BREAKOUT SESSION B
CROISAN ROOM
Tax increment finance (TIF) can be a powerful tool for advancing catalytic projects that unlock private investment and spur broader redevelopment. But these projects can also be complex, requiring creative partnerships, careful risk management, and sustained coordination.
This session will explore catalytic projects in Redmond and Salem, examining how they came together, the role TIF played, the partnerships that made them possible, and the challenges encountered along the way. Presenters will share lessons learned and discuss how these investments have helped generate additional development and lasting change in their communities.
This will be a hybrid event with the first 20 minutes in the Salem Convention Center and the remaining time touring key projects in downtown Salem.
