This year, OEDA is combining our ‘Excellence in Oregon Economic Development Awards’ program with our Summer Conference! Join us to showcase cases in response, recovery and equitable economy-building across Oregon. We’re inviting community and legislative leadership, media, and the extended economic development community together to celebrate this impactful work. We invite all OEDA member organizations to submit projects and/or case studies of dynamic work in the categories detailed below. ALL submissions will be published and featured during the June 23 Virtual Oregon Economic Development Showcase and included in marketing and media outreach. Winning submissions will be invited to present a panel session on their work live during the showcase.

2021 Excellence in Oregon Economic Development Program
OEDA’s Excellence in Economic Development program recognize the state’s best economic development programs, projects, partnerships, marketing materials and influential leadership in the field. Awards honor communities, organizations and individuals for dynamic work in generating positive economic development in Oregon communities.
We invite submissions in each of these five categories:
- Business Development Success
- Exceptional Economic Development Marketing and Promotions
- Tax Increment Finance (Urban Renewal) Project of the Year
- Outstanding Collaborative Partnership
- Economic Development Leader of the Year
Eligibility for Submissions
OEDA member organizations or communities, or entities that are submitting in partnership with an OEDA member, are invited to submit. Entities can join as a member here or inquire about membership status by emailing staff.
Submission Deadline
Submissions are due by email to director@oeda.biz by 5:00 pm Friday, June 4.
Submission Format
We welcome submissions in the format you feel best illustrates your work and speaks to the category and judging criteria. Your submission should include the Application Form as the Cover Page as well as a case write-up of 1-5 pages describing the project. You may also choose to produce a video submission and provide a link to that in y our write-up. Please include in your write-up- directly or as links – any webpages, images, videos or other materials that help bring your submission to life. Successful economic development takes place in Oregon communities large and small and all submissions are welcomed and valued. See Detailed Category Descriptions and Submission Cover Sheet.
Case Publication & Readiness to Present
ALL submissions will be published and featured in the June 23 Virtual Oregon Economic Development Showcase and included in marketing and media outreach. We encourage you to submit your work knowing that as a category submission it will be featured and recognized statewide!
IMPORTANT: Winning submissions will be invited to present a panel session on their work live during the showcase. As such, please know that your submission may be selected for a live presentation during the June 23 Virtual Oregon Economic Development Showcase some time from 9am-3pm. Winning submissions as determined by a subcommittee of the OEDA Board of Directors will be notified by June 11 and will be asked to confirm their ability to present in an assigned time slot by June 15.
