OEDA’s Policy Council is comprised of government affairs leaders and experts on the key policy issues affecting economic development in Oregon. Led by the Council Chair, Erika Fitzgerald, and our lobbyist partners at Oregon Government Affairs Advisors, LLP, the Policy Council develops OEDA’s legislative priorities and action plan, advocating for public policy that supports effective economic development strategies, programs, and resources.
Throughout the Legislative Session, the Council provides policy updates and legislative insights to OEDA Members through their e-Bulletin and Action Alert newsletters, keeping members informed of emerging issues and opportunities engage through testimony, outreach, coalition-building, and various other means.
Another important aspect of OEDA’s work in this area is advocacy for the urban renewal tool known as “TIF” (Tax Increment Financing), which OEDA assumed representation of following its merger in 2017 with the Association of Oregon Redevelopment Agencies (AORA).
