Job: Grant County Economic Development Director

GRANT COUNTY: Economic Development Director

General Job Duties: Take the lead in encouraging, promoting and coordinating the economic development efforts and strategies of Grant County. Encourage implementation of individual strategies for each of the cities and the County as a whole while providing the coordination to insure that there is free flow of information and mutual support among the entities. Work with the County Court to establish Grant County’s economic development program; assist developers and the public in accomplishing development projects; assist with grant writing, business retention and / or expansion and recruitment activities. Facilitate development of technical studies as necessary; gather data, prepare statistical, informational, and promotional reports; arrange programs and meetings; does related work as required to accomplish the goals and objectives of a healthy economy and communities. May include the supervision of additional staff.

Screening Requirements: A minimum of four years’ experience in a position involving economic development; Bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, or related field; or at least five years of high-level, high-quality experience in community service / community development field. Must have an acceptable criminal history and must maintain this qualification at all times during employment. Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and an acceptable driving record. A criminal background check will be conducted for the applicant selected.

Hours: 40 hours per week                    

Salary/Benefits: $4,970 per month with full county benefits
