Job: Economic Development Assistant

Woodburn, Oregon

Job Summary
City of Woodburn is looking for a responsible Economic Development Assistant. This is a new and exciting opportunity for someone who would like to be part of the economic development initiatives in our beautiful City of Woodburn.

The position will provide responsible and confidential economic development and administrative support to the Director of Economic Development; and general information and assistance to the public. Job duties include developing marketing materials to promote specific economic development opportunities; developing graphic presentations for potential new businesses; conducting research to gather data on City statistics or demographics for internal and external use; maintaining the department and TravelWoodburn website and other social media accounts; scheduling and coordinating logistics for committee and business meetings, workshops, and city hosted downtown events, and urban renewal public outreach projects.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, and minimum one (1) year of experience in public relations/marketing, or a related field, involving public contact in person and providing administrative support and social media management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Other Requirements:
• Valid Oregon class C driver’s license and the ability to meet the City of Woodburn’s driving standards
• Must pass the pre-employment background check

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Russian
