The Department of Transportation and Development (DTD) has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative,
strategic, and customer service focused Assistant Director to join their team. In this unique role you will
oversee planning and zoning, building codes, engineering development review, code enforcement, county
survey, public land corners, and septic and sustainability/solid waste programs which includes over 100
The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership and management background where you will be able to lead
change, collaborate with division managers, work cross departmentally, and support and encourage a diverse
work environment. Successful candidates will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in land use,
development, and permitting. Experience in this industry is typically gained by working in construction,
building codes, community development, engineering, economic development and re-development, urban
renewal, or capital project management.
In this leadership you will be responsible for ensuring your programs and services achieve their targeted
outcomes, provide leadership to division management within their functional service areas to support strategic
planning, program development, establishment of annual goals and objectives, budget management,
personnel management and customer service commitments.
