Prosper Portland is the economic and urban development agency for the city of Portland. Our work is based on four cornerstones:  growing family-wage jobs, advancing opportunities for prosperity, collaborating with partners for an equitable city, and creating vibrant neighborhoods and communities. We make racial equity the foundation of our community and economic development work. Within our workplace and working with our partners, we embrace values of authentic inclusion, transparency, and collaboration.

Prosper Portland seeks an experienced Project Manager who can apply their skills in economic development to lead projects and programs with specific business industry clusters to advance the goal of creating access to quality jobs and career pathway opportunities for Portlanders.

In this position, the Project Manager will create, coordinate, and manage industry-specific programming by working collaboratively with local companies and institutions. You will collaborate with public, private and community-based partners to realize growth that maximizes community benefit and is responsive to and inclusive of the communities we serve.

This position offers the opportunity to be a part of a community effort to promote economic prosperity for Portlanders and those that have not traditionally benefited from public resources by increasing employment and wealth creation opportunities, strengthening our competitive business advantages, and project managing industry-specific programming that will support business development activities.

The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive project management capabilities with a background in economic development, cluster development, relationship management, along with the flexibility and talent to manage complex, dynamic, and sometimes politically charged projects. This person will also have strong self-awareness, honed listening skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and an intuitive ease with broad and inclusive community engagement.
