Support

Greetings!  Welcome to OEDA’s new website.   This site functions as a platform for our members to reach each other and an outside audience.  All members are allowed to create and manage their own news posts and events.  Below are a few pointers for OEDA Members.

  1. Logging in/Password Reset
You can login to the website at https://oeda.biz/wp-login.php.  Check the upper right hand corner of any page, and you’ll see a link titled “Member’s Login”.  Once you’ve logged in, the Log Out option is also located in the upper right hand corner of every page.
  2. Updating your profile
Once you have logged in, you will be redirected to the Member’s Area, more specifically the Edit Profile page.  The form on this page contains contact information useful to other members and perhaps the public.  Make sure this information is correct and up-to-date.
  3. Adding a Post or Event
From the Member’s Area, you can Add a Blog Post or Add an Event.   Basically, you’re just filling out the fields, but there are a few things to remember.

    • Featured Image
Before you get started, make sure you have a featured image ready to go.  Each Blog Post and Event receive (1) ‘Featured Image’ selected from your computer.  These images help us with layout and help distinguish each blog post from the next.  Please don’t skip this step.  Images are important eye-catchers!
    • Post Title/Event Title
Event titles will automatically be prefixed with “EVENT: “.  This will make events stand out a bit in our blog archive.
    • Post Body
To encourage optimal readability across our website, and to give search engines ‘something to chew on’, each news post should be at least 300 words.
    • Internal/External
Sometimes a News Post should only be read internally by OEDA Members, not the general public.  At the bottom of the “Add a Post” form, you have the opportunity to mark your post ‘Internal Use Only’.  Selecting this option will hide your post from public view, only allowing logged in OEDA Members to read the post.
    • Event Organizers and Venues
For events, please choose an Organizer and Venue from accompanying drop down list.  If your Organizer or Venue is not in the list, go ahead and add them.

That’s it!  If you still have any questions about the process, or would like to request new features,  please visit our Contact page and let us know.
